Home Pricing
Pricing
$5 a month, and $2 an identifier
One plan, free for the first 7 days. The monthly fee keeps the register answering, the per-identifier charge is paid once when you print, and the first 10 identifiers are free for every shop, always. There is no tier above this one holding a feature back, because the amount you register is the thing that varies between two brands, not which parts of a register they are allowed to have.
The bill
Two lines, and one of them is not monthly
Figures are US dollars. When there is a listing, Shopify shows them to you in your own currency, and that listing is what charges you rather than this page.
The engine
$5 a month, after 7 free days
What keeps every card you have already printed resolving, and what lets you mint more. The same fee whether the register holds forty items or forty thousand, because answering a scan is the same work either way.
The identifiers
$2 each, once
Charged when you download the print sheet rather than when you mint, so minting a run, reading it back, finding a typo and deleting it costs nothing. Nothing recurs: an identifier is paid for once and stays in the register.
Before either
First 10 identifiers free, always
Every shop gets them, and they are not an introductory offer that quietly ends. With the free week they are enough to mint a run, print it, scan a card on your own storefront and hold the certificate, having paid nothing at all.
None of this is billed yet
As of 12 August 2026 the app is not on the App Store, billing is switched off in the code, and nothing checks whether a shop has paid before it mints. This is the model we intend and the number we intend to charge, published now because it is more useful to you than a page saying pricing is coming.
If you install before there is a bill, you are an early user and we will tell you by email before that changes. Ask us if that is you.
Worked through
What a run actually costs
The per-identifier charge lands in the month you download the print sheet for that run. After it, the register carries on answering for the monthly fee alone.
| A first run of | Identifiers charged | That month | Every month after |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 identifiers | 0 | $5 | $5 |
| 50 identifiers | 40 | $85 | $5 |
| 200 identifiers | 190 | $385 | $5 |
| 1,000 identifiers | 990 | $1,985 | $5 |
$80 to print, then $5 a month
The first 10 are free, then 40 at $2 each. The print charge lands when you download the sheet; the monthly fee starts after the 7-day trial.
Every row is a first run, so it has the free 10 to spend. Once they are spent a later run of fifty is fifty charged identifiers, and reprinting a sheet you have already paid for is free, because an identifier is charged once and never again. The 7-day trial covers the monthly fee rather than the identifiers: a first run bigger than 10 is charged inside the trial the same as outside it.
Included
All of it, on the one plan
There is no version of this that resolves a card halfway. Everything the app does today is in the plan, and the list is what has been observed working against a live store rather than what is on the roadmap.
- The register itself, a metaobject definition in your own Shopify admin
- A verification page the app serves, working with nothing set up
- Cards landing on a page in your own store instead, if you would rather
- A theme block for a page you have designed yourself
- The print sheet: one card per identifier, code and readable text
- A certificate of registration, carrying your own design
- Limited-edition numbering, counted per variant rather than per run
- Runs holding several products, printed grouped by product
- Sold, lost and stolen status, set by hand or by a Shopify event
- The full event history on every item, with who changed what
- Editing an identifier's edition number, size and date before it prints
- Deleting a run, or one identifier, while nothing in it has printed
Questions about paying
The things worth knowing before the first bill
- You are charged when you download the print sheet, not when you mint. That is deliberate, and it is the one mechanical detail worth understanding. Minting a run, reading it back, spotting that a made-on date is wrong and deleting the whole thing costs nothing at all. The charge attaches at the moment identifiers stop being editable and start being cards, because that is the moment they become real.
- You can get all the way to a scanned card without paying anything. The first 7 days carry the monthly fee and the first 10 identifiers carry themselves, which between them cover minting a run, printing it, scanning a card on your own storefront and reading the certificate. That is the whole path, not a demonstration of part of it.
- The free 10 are an allowance, not a monthly reset. They are 10 for the life of the shop rather than 10 every month, because an allowance that came back would be a permanent free tier paid in instalments. They are not a launch offer either: every shop gets them, and that does not change once the app has been out a while.
- The trial is on the monthly fee, not on identifiers. Worth being plain about, because the two are easy to run together. If you print three hundred cards in your first week, the identifiers beyond the free 10 are charged for; what the trial defers is the $5.
- Billing runs through Shopify. Charges land on your Shopify invoice, prices are shown in your own currency on the listing, and the trial, mid-cycle changes and refunds are handled under Shopify's rules rather than ours. You never give us a card: we report usage, Shopify does the charging.
- Development stores are free. Permanently, and with everything. Building something is not a thing to charge for.
- If you stop paying, the lookups stop and nothing is deleted. The monthly fee is what buys the register staying resolvable, so that is what lapses: cards stop resolving and you cannot mint more. Your records are not touched. The register is a metaobject definition in your own Shopify admin, it stays there and stays exportable, and the terms say so. Objects in other people's hands do not stop existing because an invoice went unpaid.
- Nothing already printed changes because the price changes. Cards in the world are not a lever to price against. Anything that would alter what an already-printed card resolves to gets an email before it ships, not a changed page.
Nothing to buy yet
The app is not on the App Store, so none of this is charged today. If you have a run to register before it is, tell us what you make and we will work out whether an early install is worth it for you.
